In the edition Precarious Homes, we are introducing diverse insights into the lives of vulnerable children. The main heroes of our documentary comics, Michael, Honza and Lili, share a common early experience. All three were born in families out of which they were soon removed to a foster home, where they then spent many years. Later on, their destinies diverge in many ways, as do the central themes and the tone of their stories. Our intention is that these comics revive the debate regarding the care of vulnerable children by adding one so far rather neglected voice - the voices of the children who have undergone various forms of care themselves.
The comics were created between 2015 - 2016 in a joint cooperation between Ašta šmé and the artists Fany Loubat, Marek Pokorný and Lela Geislerová.
