Ašta Šmé took part in an international comic project, leading to extensive publication of short comics about European cultural diversity, entitled “Comixiade” (2012). As a part of the project, Ašta Šmé was actively involved in comic workshops in Belgrade (2009) and Harlem (2010). As part of Comixiade, the comic strip They Just Did Not Have the Cash appeared in the same publication, which was illustrated according to a script by Ašta Šmé and Polish artist, Ola Szmida.
